Our Scout Group is 70 Years old this year!
As part of our 70th year celebrations, we are having a service at St Swithin’s Bathford to celebrate Scouting, on Sunday Feb 2nd at 10am. Please come and join us for the service, and afterwards for a bring and share lunch at the church.
The Scout Association provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for 400,000 young people aged 6-25. Internationally, we have over 28 million young people enjoying the benefits of Scouting across 216 countries. The 23rd Scout Group has been providing Scouting to young people since 1943. Currently we run 2 Beaver Colonies, a Cub Pack and Scout Troop, numbering over 70 boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 14yrs.
In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are ‘learning by doing,’ when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. Scouting promotes the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of the individual, helping them achieve their full potential.
We are currently recruiting a new treasurer and booking secretary (two separate jobs, tho they could be done together) Anyone who is interested please contact us using our online form.
The 2013 bonfire and fireworks night was a great success and thanks to the generous sponsorship from our friends at Nibbled Catering and support from Pritchards Estate Agents, Bath Marquees and Enlightened Lighting - We will be again on 5th November 2014
